The Actors Hall of Fame Foundation
is dedicated to restoring dramatic arts education in schools
and expanding the value and importance of dramatic arts throughout society.

Access to dramatic arts education is being denied to millions of students due to budget cuts and limited resources. Studies show that dramatic arts education builds self esteem, foster improved communication skills and teaches the value of teamwork - benefits that last a lifetime.

By honoring actors for career achievement in Film, Television and Stage,
we create opportunities and support for the cultural and educational benefits that dramatic arts make in all of our lives.

Did you know that:

  1. 74% of students in our elementary and secondary schools HAVE NO dedicated theatre arts curriculum or program

  2. In the last National Arts Assessment, students averaged 12-18 points higher in Theatre than music.

  3. The amount of graduates from colleges and universities offering performing arts degrees has doubled in the last 15 years! There are now over 4500 schools offering undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in dramatic arts.

Educational Outreach Programs in Development:

Here is a brief synopsis of the programs, services and outreach being developed for implementation in 2011 through 2015.

Dramatic Choices: A dramatic arts education outreach to help stem the tide of rising high school drop outs. Working with local schools and community groups, we identify  groups of between 10-20 at risk students, and give them the tools and materials (current movie/TV scripts, coaches, costumes, etc.) to create and produce a dramatic arts performance event that we will record and broadcast.

The Actors Hall of Fame Game: An interactive game designed to engage families with the fun and creativity of acting by giving them a chance to act in their favorite scenes from popular TV shows, movies or plays right in their own living rooms. The game combines the best of board game play with the interactivity of social networks and online media (internet and mobile) where families can share videos of their own scenes while trying to win a place in the Hall of Fame.

Actors in Residence: Dramatic arts students currently enrolled in a 2 or 4 year dramatic arts program at a partner college or university are assigned to local primary and secondary schools with no organized dramatic arts education program. They work on a pre-determined curriculum to provide support and assistance to create student productions.

U-ACT: Our mentoring program for young emerging actors in high school and college. We facilitate and support a consistent mentoring program drawing from the experience of industry professionals in every aspect of the business to work with young actors as they enter and grow in their professional careers.

Peer Retreats: These events will be 3-7 day retreats where professional and semi-professional actors can share experiences and work together in a creative and safe atmosphere. Actors need a place where they can come to revitalize their core talents, share technique and experiences and socialize without the pressure of a high visibility public event or award ceremony. Peer Retreats will give working actors a private and productive experience.
